DataStar has joined with a range of leading journal publishers and aggregators to provide electronic links from DataStarWeb and DataStarClassic to the electronic journals that you subscribe to. In this way, DataStarWeb now provides immediate access to both the widest range of abstracts available PLUS full-text articles from your favorite journals—a powerful combination unmatched by any other online host or publisher on the web.

OpenURL 1.0

Dialog eLinks on DataStar has upgraded to OpenURL 1.0, the latest standard for customers with link resolvers. Get more from your library holdings and electronic journal investments by setting up your DataStar accounts to link to full-text through your own document-fulfillment system. Integrate the power of DataStar with access to the best copy available linked directly from citations that fit specific search criteria.

Librarian/administrators with link resolvers can easily activate OpenURL 1.0 in eLinks Manager by choosing 1.0 from the new Open URL drop-down menu.  With this setup you give searchers in your organization immediate access to the fulltext documents you manage.  Virtually every bibliographic citation in the scientific-technical literature will have an “Open URL” button.  Scientists, chemists, biologists, researchers, engineers, information managers and inventors now can link directly from their search results on DataStar to their electronic holdings, including the complete journal articles, with the charts, graphs, diagrams and pictures they need for their research.

To get linked up right away, first select the journal publishers and aggregators you currently have subscriptions with and would like to link to. Then complete this form to enable eLinks on your DataStar account.
